FEM Step 5
Developing Actions
The facilitator leads the participants in brainstorming supports and actions that can help the student to achieve his/her post-school goals. This is done through the Support Sequence and the Action Plan template.
The Support Sequence and Action Plan Template
The Support Sequence outlines 7 modes of support:
-
Yourself, i.e. the student
-
Learning
-
Technology
-
Equipment & Adaption
-
Family, Friends and Neighbours
-
Community and Services
-
Specialised Support
Use the support sequence to generate ideas for supports. Supports can be immediate, short or longer term.
After determining the range of supports, the facilitator leads the participants to develop an action plan using the Action Plan template.
The Action Plan Template outlines clear follow-up, including actions related to curriculum (Will do what), the people responsible for actioning them (Who), and the timelines for their completion (by when).
Now that FEM is completed, we are ready to start developing the ITP!
